Jane K. Dickinson is a nurse and certified diabetes educator; she has both a professional and personal interest in diabetes. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 1975, Jane spent several summers as a counselor and student nurse at diabetes camp. Later she served as the Director of Clinical Services and Education at The Barton Center for Diabetes
Education, where she oversaw diabetes programs for children and families. Jane lives in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where she developed a Diabetes Education Program at the local hospital. She is currently the program coordinator and faculty for the Diabetes Education and Management Masters Program at Teachers College Columbia University.
Jane has published two books: People With Diabetes Can Eat Anything, just recently out, and Diabetes Karma. Jane writes about everyday topics and how they relate to diabetes on her blog at JaneKDickinson.com. In her spare time, Jane loves to walk, travel, listen to music
and watch movies. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
