TuDiabetes Live Interview with TuDiabetes member Melissa: peer to peer fundraising!

Melissa Lee (MelissaBL on TuDiabetes) is a long-time member and supporter of TuDiabetes. Melissa was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 10, DKA and comatose with a blood sugar over 1000. After spending 18 years feeling alone with her disease, she discovered the TuDiabetes community in 2008 and enthusiastically dove in. As one of the first two volunteer admins and later the first Lead Admin, she has given back to the community with her time, talent, and treasure because she credits it with finding the support she needed to get pregnant – twice – and better manage her diabetes on a daily basis. She currently serves on the steering committee of Diabetes Advocates, another program of Diabetes Hand Foundation. She is known to the greater community as a blogger and advocate, writing for A Sweet Life online magazine and her own blog, Sweetly Voiced.

Now the mother of two beautiful kids and a member of the Diabetes Hands Foundation’s Board of Directors for the last two years, Melissa will take over the chairmanship of the board in 2015 for a two-year term.

Melissa will join us to talk about peer-to-peer fundraising to support the work of Diabetes Hands Foundation, which hosts TuDiabetes.
